Faculty, Staff, & Administration

We strive to inspire confidence through the teaching of Christian values to help students believe they can accomplish anything.

Our Lady of Fatima is recognized as one of the leading elementary schools in the nation in terms of academic excellence. One of the many reasons for this ranking is the outstanding faculty. Fatima sustains a select group of educators. Each teacher is certified in his/her academic field and many of Fatima's professional staff hold or are working towards a Master's Degree. These professionals are always broadening their base of knowledge through research, continuing education, in-services, workshops and conventions. Fatima also has two full-time guidance counselors that serve the students daily.

In addition to the outstanding and professional teaching staff Fatima has many professionals with expertise in many areas. In our state of the art library, students are taught by two certified librarians. The computer labs are run by two veteran teachers, and the Physical Education Department has three teachers who are certified in P.E., two of which have Master's Degrees. The music department boasts a very talented group of musicians comprised of a choral director, director of liturgical music, a band director and 3 piano teachers.

The support staff at Fatima is professional, bright, polite and always ready to assist and support the parents and teachers. They do a tremendous job of supporting the entire system so that the school runs smoothly and student's needs are met.

Our custodial staff is a professional crew that take a great deal of pride in the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility and grounds. This is evidenced by the clean and safe campus.

Fatima is accredited by the Louisiana Department of Education, the Diocese of Lafayette, and SACS (Southern Association of Colleges & Schools). Fatima has received the U.S. Department of Education's Outstanding Elementary School Award twice and the Spotlight Award from West Point. We received a commendation for continuing efforts to enhance conservation of fish and wildlife by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Our most esteemed acknowledgement came from Cardinal Poi Laghi, the Vatican's Prefect for Catholic Education, when he presented the principal with a Papal medal and deemed Fatima the "Best School in the State."
