In 2010, the Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School Alumni Association established the Distinguished Warrior Alumni Award to honor a former student who represents the ideals of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School and who have made a difference in our community by their contributions pertaining to the school’s mission and vision. The Distinguished Warrior Alumni Award recognizes alumni who embody the spirit of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School. These alumni exemplify the values OLF strives to instill in each student and personify one or more of the following: service to their community, distinction in professional life, involvement in school and parish, and/or inspiring others as positive role models.

2026 Distinguished Warrior Alumni Award

Camille Hensarling Mahtook†

Fatima School and the Fatima Alumni Council are pleased to present the Distinguished Warrior Award posthumously to the late Camille Ann Hensarling Mahtook. 

Camille is the daughter of Richard Neal Hensarling, Sr. and Rachel Harmon Hensarling. She and all her siblings, Richard, Matthew, Catherine, and Claire attended Fatima. Camille graduated from Fatima in 2015. She loved her time at Fatima and playing Warrior volleyball. After high school at STM, she went on to LSU to run track. At the peak of her life, while on the LSU track team, she was diagnosed with ocular melanoma. As hard as it was, she never complained and kept her faith. She graduated from LSU in 2023, and continued to hold her head up and live her life as strongly as she could. She was such a bright light for others. Camille studied and gained her commercial real estate license shortly after graduating from LSU. She was quickly putting deals together and started to make a name for herself. Camille was very well spoken, intelligent, and could match the needs of her clients to the needs of the community. She had great insight for such a young age, all while keeping God at the forefront of her dealings and daily life. 

Camille and Gregory had a loving, fairytale relationship. They were the model couple for all of their friends and others to witness. She worked through all of the trials while being at LSU, worked and studied to be a commercial real estate broker, all while mentally and physically battling her disease. She amazed all who knew her. She was devout and committed to her Catholic faith. She and Gregory enjoyed going to visit the Blessed Sacrament together and attending daily masses when available. Camille was married to Gregory Charles Mahtook, Jr. at St. John’s Cathedral on Jan 4, 2025. 

Camille was a true warrior before and during her 5-year battle with cancer. While her precious life was cut short, her impact on our community remains. She is dearly missed by many, and her legacy and grace will remain through this award. 

We want to thank the Hensarling and Mahtook families for accepting this award in her memory.

The following criteria has been established for this honor:
1. A former Fatima student, living or deceased, who represents the ideals, values, and morals of Our Lady of Fatima School and the Catholic Church,
and
2.  Someone who has made a contribution to the Fatima community,
and
3. Someone who made meaningful contributions in their chosen profession

Nominations:

• Nominees, if not selected, will remain on the nominee list for three years, after that time they must be re-nominated to be considered.

• Nominations must be made by an Our Lady of Fatima alumni, current or former faculty member, administrator, or staff member, or current or former parent.

• All nominations must be made on an official nomination form, which can be found below.
