OUR LADY OF FATIMA SCHOOL ATHLETIC PROGRAM

Our Lady of Fatima School has a tradition of excellence in its interscholastic and athletic program. Our program strives to build self-esteem and Christian sportsmanship through the challenges of competitive sports.

The following areas are part of Fatima's Athletic Program:

Basketball
Basketball is offered to girls in grades 6–8 and boys in grades 5–8. Practices are held multiple times a week at Fatima beginning in early November. The season runs from December through early February, concluding with the League Championship Tournament. Our teams compete in the Middle School Christian Basketball League with the possibility of a weekend tournament within the stretch of the season. Due to the high level of interest, team selections may be required. The participation fee for basketball is $100. 
 

Volleyball
Volleyball is offered to girls in grades 5–8, with one team fielded at each grade level. The season begins in August and concludes in October with a League Championship Tournament. Practices are held three to four times a week until gameplay begins. Games are typically played two times a week. Our teams compete in the Middle School Christian Volleyball League. Due to the high level of interest, team selections may be required. The participation fee for volleyball is $100. 
 

Track & Field
Track & Field is available to boys and girls in grades 5–8, with athletes competing within their respective age groups. The season begins in early February and concludes in late April or early May. Practices are held two to three times per week at Fatima or St. Thomas More High School. Our 5th and 6th graders compete as one team, while 7th and 8th graders compete as another in the Middle School Christian Track League. The season concludes with the League Championship Meet. The participation fee for track & field is $100. 
 

Cross Country
Cross Country is offered to boys and girls in grades 5–8. Practices are held two to three times per week at Fatima or St. Thomas More High School. The season begins in early September and will conclude in November with the State Championships in Pineville. Athletes compete in league sponsored meets along with local area sponsored races throughout the season. Meets are typically held on weekdays, with some taking place on Saturday mornings. The participation fee for cross-country is $100. 
 

Football
Football is offered to boys in grades 5–8. The season begins in early August and concludes during the last week of October. Practices are held Monday through Thursday, with games played once each week on either a weeknight or weekend. Two teams are fielded: one for grades 5–6 and another for grades 7–8. Our teams compete in the Middle School Christian Football League. The participation fee for football is $125.

Tennis
Tennis is offered to boys and girls in grades 6–8. Practices begin in late February and continue through late April, with team practices held twice-weekly at a local tennis club. Players are encouraged to practice independently as often as possible. Our team competes in the Middle School Christian Tennis League, with matches typically held once or twice per week. The participation fee for tennis is $100. 
 

Golf
Golf is offered to boys and girls in grades 6–8. Players practice once or twice each week at a local driving range or nearby golf course, and compete in weekly nine-hole matches against one or two other schools. The season concludes with participation in the end-of-the-year golf tournament. Team selections may be necessary based on the number of interested participants. Our teams compete in the Middle School Christian Golf League. The participation fee for golf is $100. 
 

Baseball
Baseball is offered to boys in grades 6–8, with one team fielded at each grade level. Teams compete against other schools in the Middle School Christian Baseball League. Practices are held once or twice each week at local parks. The season begins in early February and runs through early April. Games are played at the Youngsville Sports Complex, St. Julien Park, or Parc Hardy. Team selections may be necessary based on the number of interested participants. The participation fee for baseball is $100. 
 

Softball
Fast-pitch softball is offered to girls in grades 5–8. The team competes in the Middle School Christian Softball League. Practices are held at the Youngsville Sports Complex and/or St. Julien Park. The season begins in early February and concludes in mid-April. Games are played at the Youngsville Sports Complex, St. Julien Park, or Parc Hardy. Team selections may be necessary based on the number of interested participants. The participation fee for softball is $100. 
 

Soccer
Soccer is offered to boys and girls in grades 5–8. Practices are held twice each week from mid-November through early February, with games beginning in early December and continuing through early February. Teams compete in the Middle School Christian Soccer League. Practices and most games take place at St. Julien Park. Depending on participation, boys may field a JV team (grades 5–7) and a varsity team (grades 7–8). The girls may field a JV team (grades 5-7) and a varsity team (grades 6-8).  Team selections may be necessary based on the number of interested participants. The participation fee for soccer is $100. 
 

Swimming
Swimming is offered to boys and girls in grades 5–8. Practices and meets are held at the Robichaux Center Pool. The team practices once or twice during the week and competes in league meets on weekdays and Saturdays throughout April. The season concludes with a championship meet in early May. Fatima’s participation fee is $25. The league is run by COLA swimming, who charges an additional fee at the beginning of each season.
